Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a medicine composition useful for treating diseases caused by a blood platelet activating factor, containing a specific benzothiazepine derivative. CONSTITUTION: This composition comprises a compound of the formula [R<1> is H or a 2-4C alkanoyl; (n) is 2-4, R<2> is naphthyl, thienyl or pyridyl (which may contain one to three halogens, CF3 , NO2 , OH, SH, 1-4C alkoxy, benzyloxy groups, etc., as a phenyl substituent group)] or its acid addition salt in a purified diastereomer or its mixture state such as (±)-cis 5-[2-[N-(3,4-d imethoxyphenyl) ethyl]methylamino]ethyl]-3-hydorxy-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2,3-dihydro-5H- 1,5- benzothiazepine-4-one. The compound is useful as a medicine for cardiovascular system, for treating diseases requiring control factors of calcium transmembrane and intracellular behavior such as hypertension, angina pectoris and cardiac arrhythmia.
