PURPOSE: To reduce a labour of an operator and assure a safety characteristic by a method wherein an S/N ratio is increased by utilizing a relation of mutual variations of each of the variables of a large amount of states of a plant accompanied by a variation of the type coals and the type of coals burned and a mixing rate of coals are discriminated in reference to a variation of these amounts of states under a state of probability.
CONSTITUTION: An input signal processing part 11 outputs data (x). (x) is inputted to a probable distance calculation part 12. The probable distance calculation part 12 may execute a calculation in reference to (x), get a probable distance Di2(i = 1 to N) at N groups of (x) and output the values of Di2(i= 1 to N) of the number of N to a group variation discriminator 13 for the sample. Mean matrix μ(i)(i = 1 to N) for the calculation or an inverse matrix Σ-1 of a dispersion and a co-dispersion may collect data from the plant of a target before construction, calculate the data and prepare for it. A coal non-combustion discrimination part and an applied coal discriminating part 21 may input an output Di2(i = 1 to N) of the probable distance calculation part 12 and then judge whether the coal is being burned or not in reference to the value of Di2(i = 1 to N) and further discriminate the type of coal.
