PURPOSE: To improve working efficiency by a method wherein a controller is provided for a container shifting device, a container starting and transporting device, a kneading device, a viscosity measuring device and-transporting and supplying device for kneading material to effect operation continuously and automatically under sealed condition.
CONSTITUTION: Unshaped refractory material is received by a container shifting device 8 under a condition that the material is sealed in a container 4 and is stored into a specified address of container warehouses 2a, 2b by a command from a container warehouse controller. When a starting command is outputted, the container 4 is taken out and is put on a container receiving table 10a. Then, a sealing device 10b for peventing powder dust from the container 4 and container unsealing devices 6a, 6b, 6c are operated in conjunction with each other whereby the material is thrown into a mixer 1. The weight of the thrown material is measured by the load cell of the receiving table 10a, then, binder is added to the material and sufficient kneading is effected. On the way of kneading, a viscosity measuring device is inserted into the kneading device 18 to check whether the viscosity of the material is a set viscosity or not.
