To obtain an aqueous adhesive composition capable of forming an adhesive coating layer for flocking and charging a short fiber with static electricity without providing a primer on the surface of a substrate by including a specific resin, a specific dispersion, an antifoam agent, a pH adjusting agent and a crosslinking agent.
This adhesive composition, preferably having pH 7.0-9.0 is obtained by including (A) 100 pts.wt. aqueous polyurethane resin, (B) 1-10 pts.wt. aqueous coloring pigment dispersion, (C) 0.1-2.0 pts.wt. antifoam agent, (D) 0.5-1.0 pt.wt. pH adjusting agent and (E) 0.5-25.0 pts.wt. crosslinking agent. The component E is preferably selected from an oxazoline pendant emulsion resin, an ethyleneimine compound, a carbondiimide compound, a methylolated urea, a melanin resin, a self-emulsion type epoxy resin and a half-emulsion type block isocyanate. The composition is produced by mixing the components A and E and stirring the mixture for 5-10 min using a dispersing equipment.
