Abstract:
To obtain an aqueous adhesive composition free from volatile organic compound (VOC) components such as plasticizers and having sufficient adhesion performance at a low temperature.
This aqueous adhesive composition has a toluene-insoluble content of ≥30 wt.% and <70 wt.% and an ethylene content of 20-40 wt.%. The composition is produced by the emulsion polymerization of a (meth)acrylic monomer in the presence of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having a glass transition temperature of -50 to 0°C. The amount of the (meth)acrylic monomer is 5-100 pts. wt. based on 100 pts. wt. of the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer in solid basis.
