Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve film-forming properties, mechanical characteristics, weatherability, water resistance, and stain resistance by dispersing a specific fluorocopolymer in water.
CONSTITUTION: 20-80mol% fluoroolefin, 0.1-25mol% macromonomer having hydrophilic sites, and 1-40mol% unsatd. monomer having a hydrolyzable silyl group of the formula (wherein R1 is H, alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl; R2 is halogen, alkoxy, acyloxy, aminoxy, phenoxy, thioalkoxy, or iminoxy; and (a) is 0-3) are emulsion-polymerized in an aq. medium in the presence of a polymn. initiator and a pH adjusting agent under 1-10kg/cm2 pressure at 0-100°C.
