Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition storable at high temperatures for a long period and capable of avoiding an increase in viscosity with time and manifesting excellent cosmetic characteristics and useful for treating, caring for, etc., of nails by using a solvent having a specific average Hansen solubility parameter as a plasticizer.
SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) an aqueous dispersion of polyurethane particles (e.g. the one having 2-100 nm particle size and providing 15-300 seconds hardness of a film prepared after drying a layer having 300 μm thickness of the aqueous dispersion containing 28% of the solids of the particles at 30°C and 50% relative humidity for 24 h) and (B) a plasticizer selected from solvents having ≤8 (J/cm3)1/2 average Hansen solubility parameter at 25°C (e.g. a di-3-10C alkyl adipate, a di-3-10C alkyl phthalate or tributyl acetylcitrate). The respective amounts of the components based on the total weight of the composition are preferably 3-50 wt.% of the polyurethane in the component A and 0.1-20 wt.% of the component B in the composition.
