Abstract:
To obtain an aqueous emulsion containing a vinyl-based polymer having an acrylic functional group on at least one terminal.
This aqueous emulsion is such one as to contain a vinyl-based polymer having in one molecule at least one group of the formula: OC(O)C(R)= CH2 (R is H or a 1-20C organic group); wherein the main chain of the vinyl- based monomer is preferably selected from (meth)acrylic monomer, acrylonitrile- based monomer, aromatic vinyl-based monomer, fluorovinyl-based monomer and silicon-contg. vinyl-based monomer; and the above vinyl-based polymer is produced, preferably by living radical polymerization, more preferably by atom-transfer radical polymerization.
