The aqueous emulsion comprises: (A) an acrylic resin comprising a structural unit derived from an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid (1) and a structural unit derived from at least one compound (2) selected from the group consisting of a monomer having a phosphate group and a (meth)acryloyl group and a salt thereof, a monomer having a sulfo group and a (meth)acryloyl group and a salt thereof, a monomer having an epoxy group and a (meth)acryloyl group, a monomer having a group derived from phthalic acid and a (meth)acryloyl group and a salt thereof, a 2-20C aliphatic unsaturated sulfonic acid and a salt thereof, a 6-20C aromatic sulfonic acid and a salt thereof; (B) a thermoplastic polymer different from the component (A); and (C) water.
