Title:
AQUEOUS LATEX COMPOSITION FOR CATCHING FORMALDEHYDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3722627
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous latex composition which can exhibit an effect of catching formaldehyde stably at almost all places for a long term at a good efficiency by mixing a specified amount of a formaldehyde catching agent with an aqueous latex.
SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by dissolving 1-50 wt.%, desirably, 2-40 wt.% at least one formaldehyde catching agent selected among an amino- containing compound, an amido-containing compound, an imido-containing compound, an imino-containing compound, a hydrazine-group-containing compound, a hydrazido-containing compound, a sulfite, a hydrogensulfite, and a thiosulfate and optionally additives such as an emulsifier and a stabilizer, and a solvent or a dispersion medium in an aqueous latex obtained by polymerizing a monomer composition containing an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer and a monomer copolymerizable therewith in an aqueous medium.
