To provide an aqueous paint composition suppressing lowering in water repellent effect during storage of the paint or after forming a coated film and able to stably exhibit a superior water repellent capacity.

In an aqueous paint composition containing a synthetic resin emulsion and a pigment as indispensable components, a synthetic resin emulsion (A), where an acrylic resin originated from an alkyl(meth)acrylate, a silicone resin originated from a cyclic siloxane compound are mixed and contained in a ratio of 99:1 to 30:70 by weight in the emulsion particles, is used as the synthetic resin emulsion described above, pigment volume concentration is kept at 40% to 90%, and the pigment comprised of a petal-shaped powder (B) with a mean particle diameter of 0.1 to 100 μm is mixed to be at least 3 vol% per the total pigment.
