PURPOSE: To provide an aqueous pigment composition little in the separation of a solvent on its storage for a long period, giving a good touch when coated, and good in the color development of a pigment.

CONSTITUTION: An aqueous pigment composition comprises 10-50wt.% of a pigment such as Hansa yellow G or ultramarine blue, 5-30wt.% of a water-soluble polymer and/or a water-dispersible polymer such as gum arabic, dextrin, carboxymethyl cellulose, a water-soluble acrylic resin or an acrylic ester copolymer emulsion, a moistening agent such as ethylene glycol or glycerol, and 0.1-10wt.% of pectolite.
