PURPOSE: To obtain a compound comprising at least one (co)polymer(s) which is/are chosen from two kinds of specific polymeric materials and their salts, and useful for the (after) treatment of the surface of metal materials.
CONSTITUTION: This compound is chosen from following. (A) Polymeric material having a unit of the formula I (R1-3 are each H, 1-5C alkyl or 6-18C aryl; Y1-4 are H, at least one of Z (part of Z is amine oxide) comprising group of formula II and III (R7-12 are H, alkyl, aryl, hydroxy, amino, mercapto, phosphoalkyl, OH, etc.). (B) Polymeric material is obtained by the following method: The condensation-susceptible form of (A) together with a 2nd compound such as phenol, tannin, novolac resin are subjected to the condensation reaction with aldehyde and/or ketone to form a condensation prepolymer resin product. This prepolymer is further subjected to the condensation reaction with aldehyde/ ketone and secondary amine to form an additive compound. This additive is allowed to react with H2O2 and neutralized with an acid to form amine oxide capable of producing NH2OH, which is the polymeric material (B). (C) The said compound chosen from the salts of (A) and (B) components.
