This arc-extinguishing device 30 of the switch is equipped with a narrow-gap arc-extinguishing part 40 extinguishing an arc generated between electrodes by a narrow-gap arc-extinguishing method; and a grid arc- extinguishing part 50 extinguishing an arc by a grid arc-extinguishing method. Concretely, the narrow-gap arc-extinguishing part 40 is composed of a pair of outside narrow-gap walls 41, 41 and a central narrow-gap wall 42 arranged between both outside narrow-gap walls 41, 41, and a surface contact blade is interposed between both outside narrow-gap walls 41, 41 and the central narrow-gap wall 42. The grid arc-extinguishing part 50 is composed of a plurality of grids 51 stacked at the specified intervals and a partition member 52 interposed between a pair of grids 51. Each grid 51 and each partition member 52 are inserted from the rear of the narrow-gap walls 41, 42, 41 so as to perpendicularly cross.
