Abstract:
To provide an arc fault detection device with which it is possible to assess the abnormality of a light emitting part provided for self-diagnosis to determine the necessity for inspection early, and to avoid power outages due to the malfunction of a self-diagnosis function in advance.SOLUTION: An arc fault detection device comprises: a light emitting part 203 for emitting diagnosis light for self-diagnosis; a first light receiving part 204 for receiving arc light having occurred at abnormal time and receiving diagnosis light at self-diagnosis time, as well as converting received light into a first electric signal; a second light receiving part 206 for receiving diagnosis light at self-diagnosis time and converting into a second electric signal; an arc light detection part 205 for detecting the occurrence of arc light on the basis of the first electric signal; and an assessment part 209 for assessing the abnormality of the light emitting part 203 on the basis of the ratio of the received amounts of light found from the output signals of the light receiving parts 204, 206 at self-diagnosis time. The light emitting part 203 and the first light receiving part 204 are accommodated in a case 202 composed of a light permeable material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
