In the arc welding control method for executing the pulse arc welding by running the welding current consisting of the peak current during the peak period and the base current during the base period, the test welding is executed by the pulse arc welding in which weld parts Ps2-Pe2 with occurrence of the magnetic blow therein are discriminated out of a plurality of weld parts according to the rise of the welding voltage during the base period, and stored. During the actual execution in which weld parts Ps1-Pe1, Ps3-Pe3 other than the stored parts with occurrence of the magnetic blow are welded, the welding is executed by the pulse arc welding. When welding the stored weld parts Ps2-Pe2 with occurrence of the magnetic blow, the welding is executed by automatically changing the welding method from the pulse arc welding to the DC arc welding. Since rapid arc cutting hardly occurs during the DC arc welding, the excellent bead appearance can be kept.
