Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the impact absorbing function while improving the arm rest upper supporting strength in an arm rest for vehicle formed by providing an arm rest lower in an interior trim and installing the arm rest upper in a top surface of the arm rest lower.
SOLUTION: A top surface flange 31 of the arm rest lower 30 of a door trim 20 is formed with a supporting stage part 32 for abutting on the arm rest upper 40 for support, and the arm rest upper 40 is securely supported by the supporting stage part 32, and while the arm rest upper 40 is fixed to a front surface wall 32a of the supporting stage part 32 so that a fitting fixed point P of the arm rest lower 30 and the arm rest upper 40 is provided with a distance from a car body panel 50, and the deformation stroke quantity of the arm rest lower 30 is secured so as to improve the impact absorbing performance. Breakdown is facilitated by providing an opening 34 in both sides of the supporting stage part 32 or providing a breaking recessed groove 35 in the top wall surface 32b so as to improve the impact absorbing function.
