This armrest type input device is characterized in that a keyboard 1 and a pointing device such as a track ball 2 which are divided into the right and left in the center are arranged on right and left armrests 3 respectively. Those are mounted on a chair 4 and then a user can operate the computer at a natural attitude while the arms are placed on the armrests 3. Consequently, adverse influence of long-time operation at an unnatural attitude on health, e.g. shoulder stiffness and backache can be reduced.
