Abstract:
PURPOSE: To attain high speed decoding by parallel processing.
CONSTITUTION: A channel control 221 recombines a coded data stream into plural data streams by each context bin. Each stream is given to stream generators (BG) 222, 223, 224,... A set of the BG222 and a probability estimate module (PEM) 225, a set of the BG223 and a probability estimate module (PEM) 226, a set of the BG224 and a probability estimate module (PEM) 227 or the like decode a data stream of a specific context bin independently respectively to realize parallel decoding. A context model (CM) selects decoded data from the PEMs 225, 226, 227,... in a proper order to provide an output of expansion data stream.
