PURPOSE: To obtain a molded product suppressed in the stress cracking of the weld by molding a resin composition comprising an aromatic polysulfone resin and an alkali metal salt of phthalimide.
CONSTITUTION: 100 pts.wt. aromatic polysulfone resin having a weight-average molecular weight of 20000-50000 and prepared by mixing at least one polymer having structural units of formulas I to IV is mixed with 0.01-5 pts.wt. alkali metal salt of phthalimide represented by formula V (wherein M is an alkali metal) (e.g. potassium phthalimide) and optionally specified amounts of additives including a plasticizer, a stabilizer, a flame retardant, etc. The obtained mixture is mixed in a mixer, melt-kneaded and extruded through, e.g. a twin-screw extruder into a pelletized aromatic polysulfone resin composition. This composition is molded on, e.g. an injection molding machine into a molding (e.g. an IC socket) excellent in the stress cracking resistance of the weld.
