Abstract:

To provide an arrangement for directly coupling a laser, in particular a short pulse laser, which excites a sample nonlinearly and exists outside a microscope housing into an optical path of a laser scanning microscope (LSM) consisting of a housing, that is, the housing to which an adjusting laser capable of coupling into the optical path of microscope through a beam splitter is installed.

In the arrangement, the housing is incorporated into a scan module MO of the LSM in a loadable and unloadable form. A beam splitter SV shows high transmission in the direction of an objective lens L with respect to the direct coupling laser and, on the other hand, shows partial transmission with respect to the return reflection of the adjusting laser returning from the sample in order to adjust the extent of superimposition between the adjusting laser and the direct coupling laser.
