To provide an array substrate which makes good image display possible to provide a liquid crystal display device high in product yield and to provide a method for inspecting the array substrate.

The array substrate is constituted so that a plurality of bidirectional shift register circuits connected to a plurality of scanning lines are provided in scanning line driving circuits and the start pulse signal applied to the initial stage of the bidirectional shift register circuits in the scanning in a forward direction is outputted to the scanning lines corresponding to the respective stages while shifting the start pulse signal by one stage each and the start pulse signal applied to the initial stage of the bidirectional shift register circuits in the scanning in a backward direction is outputted to the scanning lines corresponding to the respective stages while shifting the start pulse signal by one stage each.
