PURPOSE: To supply or discharge an article without using a pusher.

CONSTITUTION: An article accumulating device has a conveyor 30 which is set so as to extend in parallel with an article carrying-accumulating member 20 to carry and accumulate an article in an article accumulating device and carries the article in an article receiving part by passing the part through the article receiving part 26 of the device. The conveyor 30 is arranged at intervals in parallel with each other in the extending direction, and has plural long and narrow finger members 38 extending in the direction for proceeding to the article carrying-accumulating member. On the other hand, the article carrying- accumulating member 20 has plural article accumulating finger members mutually set at prescribed intervals in parallel with each other in the lengthwise direction, and an article accumulating finger member passes upward through a clearance between the finger members in an upper traveling part 30' of the conveyor 30 passing through the article receiving part, and takes up the article placed and carried by the finger members.
