To provide an article conveying system capable of preventing wasteful power consumption in a stand-by state by cutting off all power supply to a track traveling body when the track traveling body, such as a carriage having a track, does not receive operation direction, and of suppressing reduction in responsiveness of the track traveling body by the operation direction at the time of cutoff of power supply.
In the article conveying system, a control means mounted to the track traveling body is provided, and an operation direction means for transmitting the operation direction of the track traveling body to the control means is provided separately from the control means. A power switch 28 cutting off all power supply to the control means after operation of the track traveling body is stopped is provided for the operation direction means. The power switch 28 releases the cutoff of the power supply to the control means after the operation direction means receives the operation direction.
