To provide an article holding shelf suitable for storing heavy weights.
This article holding shelf for a closet has four pillars 2 arranged between the ceiling and the floor thereof, with each end of the pillars 2 kept pressing the ceiling and the floor. Guide members 3 forming one set out of two are extended between the pillars 2 at a deep position and a front position. Then, a shelf member 4 is engaged with each guide member 3 as a set of two and laid so as to be movable in a back-and-forth direction. As each pillar 2 is erected between the ceiling and the floor for the propping thereof, the shelf member 4 in a drawn-out state does not overturn forward, even when loaded with heavy weights, thereby ensuring suitability for housing a heavy article.
