Abstract:

To watch that an article to be monitored is separated by more than a predetermined distance from the hand of a holder contrary to the holder's intention and give a warning, when the holder moves, while holding the article to be monitored in one's hand or brings the article to a customer, and the like.

An article monitoring system 10 comprises: a storage body 12 for storing article body 11 and a non-contact identification tag 20 provided on the objected article body 11; a transmitting unit 30 for reading the identification information recorded in the non-contact identification tag 20 to be provided on the storage body 12 and for transmitting the identification information to a mobile terminal device 50 to be carried by the holder of the article by a short-distance radio communication; and a receiving unit 40 connected to the mobile terminal device 50 and for receiving the identification information to be transmitted from the transmitting unit 30, prior to inputting to the mobile terminal device 40, wherein the mobile terminal device 50 detects that the article 11 has been separated by more than a predetermined distance from the storing body 12 or the mobile terminal device 50, and outputs alarm information.
