To provide an article mounting device which can firmly secure a heavy article, such as electric equipment, to a rack with aligned oblong holes therein, without being moved by vibration, etc.
A rack 1 has flanges 6, 6 at both the right and left ends of a web 5 in which aligned oblong holes 7 are provided, and has saucer-shaped spring washers 15 each of which has both of its crosswise ends 15b, 15b deflected to the same side. The spring washers 15 and flat nuts 4 are fitted to the back of the rack 1, with both of the crosswise ends 15b, 15b of each spring washer 15 intervening in such a way as to be pointed to the web 5 of the rack 1. The mounting parts 9 of an article 2 are pressed against the outer surface of the web 5 of the rack 1, and clamping screws 3 are passed through mounting holes 11 an the mounting parts 9, the oblong holes 7 in the web 5, and screw holes 15a in the spring washers 15, with the projecting end of each screw 3 driven into a tapped hole 4a in a nut 4 Thus both of the crosswise ends 15b, 15b of each spring washer 15 are deflected in the opposite direction and toward the web 5 to bite into the inner surfaces of the right and left flanges 6, 6.
