This device is provided with a fixed side link 23 one end of which is supported on the side wall of the article storage passage, movable side link 25 one end of which is linked to the other end of the fixed side link 23 so as to freely turn and the other end is made vertically movable along a side wall 13, a plurality of positioning recesses 19c and holes 19d for positioning the other end side of the movable side link 25, and passage width control plate 21 which is located inside an article storage passage 1 in the attitude almost parallel to the side wall 13 for controlling the effective width of the article storage passage while being fixed or abutted on the rear side to the linking part of the fixed side link 23 and the movable link 25.
