Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transport device comprising a brake mechanism which can apply brake force which is required for stopping a transport body and which is sufficient, with high freedom degree of installation.SOLUTION: An article transport device comprises: a star wheel which serves as a transport body for transporting a beverage container C as one example of an article; a driving mechanism 11 for transporting driving force to the star wheel from an electric motor 12 as a driving source; and a brake unit 20 for braking movement of the star wheel. The brake unit 20 comprises: a brake rotor 21 which is a transmission component which constitutes with a gear wheel 14, a transmission mechanism 25 for taking out driving force from the gear wheel 14 as a component provided on a path for transmitting driving force from the electric motor 12 side to the star wheel side, to outside of the path; and a brake force generation mechanism 22 as brake means for applying brake force to the brake rotor 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
