Title:
ARTIFICIAL FLOWER AND ITS PREPARATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3304313
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a petal or a leaf of an artificial flower with the flexibility and shape retaining properties.
SOLUTION: A resin clay 1 is kneaded and extended and the extended resin clay 1 is then cut into the shape of a desired petal or a desired leaf. Fabrics are further applied through an adhesive to both the right and the back sides of the petal or leaf. Flexibility such as a fabric flower and excellent shape retaining properties such as a clay flower are obtained by combination of a resin clay 1 with a fabric 2. A thin fabric such as a silk, a gauze or a cheese cloth, a medium-thick fabric such as a georgette or a satin or a thick fabric such as a velvet can be used as the fabric 2 according to the kind of the flower. When a woven cloth is applied so that the resin clay 1 is on the positive bias of about 45° to the texture, deformation processing can freely be carried out. The fabric 2 can be cut to the same size as that of the resin clay 1, but is cut to as to protrude from the peripheral edge of the resin clay 1 by about several mm. Frayed fibers in the protruded part 2a stood as downy hairs and impart a delicate feeling and appearance resembling those of a natural petal or a natural leaf.
