Abstract:

To obtain the compound having an activity against β3-adrenarine receptors and useful for treating diabetes, obesity, intestinal hyperkinesis, achalasia, etc.

A compound of formula I [R1-R3 are each H, hydroxy, an alkoxy, nitro or the like; R4-R9 are each H, an alkoxycarbonyl, hydroxy, a halogen, an alkyl or the like; (m) is 0 or 1] or its salt, for example, (S)-1-{[bis(4- methoxyphenyl)methyl]amino}-3-phenoxy-2-propanol. The compound of formula I is obtained by thermally coupling a compound of formula II with a compound of formula III in a solvent such as ethanol. The compound of formula I may be processed into a preparation together with a β1 or β2-adrenarine receptor blocker or an activator, and is preferably orally administered at a daily dose of 0.1-100 mg/kg.
