NEW MATERIAL: The compd. of formula I [Ar is aryl; A is formula II (R2 and R3 are each H or lower alkyl), etc.; R is H, alkaline metal or lower alkyl; n is 0 to 2; m is 0 to 3; p is 1 to 5; q is 0 to 3; r is 0 to 3; (CH2)m, (CH2)p and (CH2)r are each nonsubstd. or a group substd. with lower alkyl or lower alkoxy].

EXAMPLE: 4-(3-((4-chlorophenyl)sulfonyl)proplyl)benzene acetic acid.

USE: An arachidonic acid inductive platelet coagulation inhibitor and bronchiostenosis inhibitor. Useful for the treatment of a thrombosis, angina pectoris, asthma. etc.

PROCESS: The compd. of the formula I is obtd. by alkylating the mercaptan of formula III to introduce the same to a sulfide compd., then treating the compd. with a base and subjecting the compd. to base hydrolysis and further to neutralization with an acid.
