Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the subject new compound having skin-beautifying effect, moisture-keeping effect, etc., and high safety and useful as a cosmetic material.

CONSTITUTION: 2-0-(4-prolyloxyphosphoryl)ascorbic acid of formula I. The compound can be produced by reacting a compound of formula II (R1 is OH- protecting group; R2 and R3 are H or OH-protecting group) with a compound of formula III (R4 is H or carboxyl-protecting group; R5 is H or amino- protecting group; X is halogen), eliminating the protecting groups and, as necessary, converting the product to a salt.
