Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb vibration energy, by laying a gravel layer and an improved soil layer having respectively specified thickness between foundation pile heads and a building foundation.
SOLUTION: A plurality of foundation piles 1 are driven into ground at every specified distance and respective pile heads are arranged to be almost flush with each other. Then cement is mixed with excavated soil and agitated together to place soil cement 2a by the half volume of the whole and then geotextile 3 is laid. And further, the rest 2b of the soilcement is placed to form a 0.5-2.0m thick improved soil layer 4. And a 0.1-0.2m thick gravel layer 5 is laid on the improved soil layer 4. And further, the foundation 7 of a building 6 is constructed on the upper part of the gravel layer 5. In this way, since the building 6 is disconnected from the foundation piles 1, vibration energy of the ground in an earthquake or the like can be absorbed by the improved soil layer 4 and the gravel layer 5.
