To provide an ash processing device for incinerated ash to effect control to avoid a temperature range, where generation of dioxins is active is effected, and concentration of dioxins at the outlet of the ash processing device is stably suppressed to an extremely low level, and to provide an exhaust gas temperature control method.
An electrical resistance type melting furnace 1b is provided with an acoustic measuring device 2 and a control device 32 to control a temperature of exhaust gas, and the temperature of exhaust gas generated in a space in the furnace is measured continuously. In the control device 32, data of gas temperature distribution by the acoustic measuring device 28 is combined to form data of a gas temperature range of a block address, and the gas temperature range of the block address is compared with a reference gas temperature range for computation. Based on this computed result, regulation for avoiding stagnation of a temperature area of 300-400°C generated in a flow of exhaust gas passing through a furnace space is effected by a control factor, and the temperature of the gas temperature range of each block address is controlled.
