Abstract:
To provide an ash melting furnace electrode protecting member which can maintain stable insulating property for a long period.
In an electrode protecting member 15 provided in an electrode penetrating part of a melting furnace, a glaze layer 15B fixed by applying and sintering a glaze is provided on an outer peripheral face, inner peripheral face and a lower end face of an electrode protecting member main body 15A formed from a flame resistant material. Alumina castable is used as the flame resistant material forming the electrode protecting member main body 15A, and a glaze having a coefficient of expansion of plus/minus 20% (the coefficient of expansion of the electrode protecting member) is used as the glaze.
