Abstract:

To prolong the life of a refractory material used for the inner peripheral wall of an ash melting furnace.

A number of bricks 17 as a refractory material 11 are lined on an inner peripheral wall of a furnace 6 in the vicinity of the bottom of a melting furnace body 2. The Cr2O3 brick 17 consists of Cr2O3 or Cr2O3 based material, in which Cr2O3 ore is subjected to sintering or electrolysis, followed by the use of a crushed clinker as an aggregate. The thickness of the refractory material 11 (the thickness of the furnace wall) is 230 mm according to an embodiment. The outer periphery of the refractory material 11 is entirely covered with a stamp layer 15. As a material for the stamp layer 15, an SiC based stamp material, a carbon based filler or the like is usable. A water cooled jacket 9 is disposed outside the stamp layer 15.
