To effectively carry out ash melting processing by improving reliability of determining whether an object matter subjected to heating/melting processing can be discharged in fluid from a furnace top side of a furnace body.
The ash melting processing method comprises the steps of charging an ash-like object matter W into a furnace body 2 of a melting processing furnace 1, having a burner 4 disposed on and directed downward from a furnace top side to form a deposition layer 14 of the foregoing object matter below the burner; heating/melting the object matter with a combustion flame from the burner, while rotating the foregoing furnace body installed rotatably about a rotation axis in a vertical attitude around the rotary shaft core, and then inclining the attitude of the furnace body, with respect to the vertical direction to discharge the workpiece matter in fluid. In the method, viscosity of the matter melted in the furnace body is measured, and after it is confirmed that the viscosity becomes viscosity, with which the matter can be discharged in fluid, the fluid-discharging operation for the matter is conducted.
