To provide an ashtray capable of completely extinguishing the cigarette fire held in the tray and having an appearance different from ashtray when not in use.

The objective ashtray 10 is composed of a fixed ash-holder 20 and a movable lid part 30 and both parts are connected through an extensible member 40. When the lid part 30 is moved upward by the extension of the extensible member 40, a cigarette-receiving member 130 connected to the extensible member 40 is protruded from the ashtray 10. When the lid part 30 is brought into contact with the ash holder 20 by the contraction of the extensible member 40, the cigarette-holding member 130 is retracted into the ashtray 10.
