To provide an assay for identifying a β-selectase inhibitor and a method for screening.
The assay for identifying the β-selectase inhibitor comprises a step of immobilizing a β-selectase protein on a solid support, a step of bringing the β-selectase protein into contact with a test compound in the presence of a tagged β-selectase inhibitor and a step of comparing the extent of binding of the tagged β-selectase inhibitor between the presence and absence of the test compound in order to evaluate whether or not the test compound is the β-selectase inhibitor. Furthermore, the method for screening the β-selectase inhibitor, a new β-selectase inhibitor, use thereof as the tagged β-selectase inhibitor for identifying the β-selectase inhibitor, a kit for identifying the β-selectase inhibitor and a new β-selectase inhibitor for use in treatment of Alzheimer's disease and other cerebrovascular amyloidosis are provided.
