Abstract:

To reduce power consumption by enhancing accuracy of primary synchronous channel detection in an inter-CDMA base station asynchronous cellular system mobile station.

The inter-CDMA base station asynchronous cellular system mobile station involves: applying inverse spread to all tip timing in the first detection of the primary synchronous channel in turning on power or in switching a reception frequency; and detecting peaks ranging from the top level to the M-th level of a code power profile; obtaining a tip timing value per peak and a code power value (correlation value) per peak; calculating a value obtained by dividing the code power value by a difference in timing between the code power value per peak and the top level peak; and storing the value on a memory. In the second and on detection of the primary synchronous channel in hand over or re-detection operation for a cell, N peaks in the order starting from the peak having the maximum division result are selected as an inverse spread timing candidate out of the values stored on the memory. Thus, the inverse spread start timing is limited; and cell search operation suspension (reduction in the power consumption) is possible in the timing except the inverse spread start timing.
