PURPOSE: To protect the ankle of the user from spraining and facilitate to put on or take off shoes with an excellent fit-feeling, by providing a fastening tool for fixing an upper edge of a tongue piece and an upper edge of the ankle cover on the periphery of ankle so that the front and both sides at the opening of ankle cover are lowe than the rear part thereof and the tongue piece is extended to the both right and left sides at the upper end with the form covering the lower part of ankle cover at a height nearly equal to the rear part of opening on putting on the shoes.

CONSTITUTION: An athletic shoes 1 are provided with a fastening belt 3 with a buckle 7 which is inserted in a loop 5 provided at the upper edge of an tongue piece 2 and a loop 6 provided at the upper edge of rear part of a ankle cover 4 to go around the periphery of the opening. And it is so designed that the upper edge of the tongue and the periphery of the opening are fastened around the ankle at the upper part of the ankle by the fastening belt on putting on the shoes. And further, the front and both sides of the opening of the ankle cover are lower than the rear part thereof and the upper edge of the tongue is extended to the both right and left sides, being different from other conventional athletic shoes, and hence, this extended part can cover the lowered part at the sides of the opening on putting on the shoes.
