PURPOSE: A granular injurious insect attractant, suitable for cultivation of a citrus fruit in a place of difficult water supply or in the mountains, particularly against a fruit fly, and prepared by granulating a protein hydrolyzate as an active attractant constituent, an extender and an insecticide.

CONSTITUTION: An attractant prepared by granulating (A) a hydrolyzate, preferably a liquid with the total nitrogen content of 0.5W5%, of a vegetable protein, e.g. bean-cake, corn protein or wheat gluten, or animal protein, e.g. blood powder, livestock product, entrails or animal hair, with hydrochloric or sulfuric acid or an alkali, as an active attractant constituent, (B) a vegetable powder, e.g. rice bran, soybean or grain flour, or a mineral, e.g. clay, kaolinite or terra abla, as an extender (diluent) and (C) the conventional insecticide, e.g. Malathion or Sumithion. Preferably, the amounts of crude protein, (C) and (B) are 2W20wt%, 0.5W 10wt% and the rest, and the grain size is 4W10mm.
