Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MPEG(moving picture expert group) audio encoder in which the sound quality is never deteriorated when a fluting sound is absent, and the fluting sound can be easily removed with little processing quantity when an audio coding method using sub-band analysis such as MPEG audio is used as the sound recording method of a video camera. SOLUTION: This encoder has a fluting sound detecting means 8, a switch 9, and two filters consisting of a general filter for the band containing a large quantity of the fluting sound component of a filter band for performing a sub- band analysis and a filter containing not so much fluting sound component. Coding is performed by use of the output of the general filter having a wide band when the detection result of fluting sound shows the presence of fluting sound, and by use of the filter having a narrow band which less passes the fluting sound component when the fluting sound is not detected. Otherwise, the output or code assignment of the filter for the band containing the fluting sound is set to 0.
