Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital distortion apparatus which is constituted simply and the input/output relation of which is not fixed by eliminating the defect of a conventional digital distortion apparatus which does not create amusing sounds but is apt to make monotonous sounds.
SOLUTION: A conversion circuit 101 generates a divisor (y) on the basis of an input signal. A division filter 102 calculates x/y from a dividend (x) and the divisor (y). Since the filter 102 carries out this division by filter calculation, a time constant is varied according to the divisor (y) and time of reaching the result of division is different. The result of division is multiplied by an input signal to restrict the level of the input signal. Thus, the characteristics of level restriction where the input/output relation of distortion is not fixed can be given and an effective musical sound of variety of tones can be generated.
