To shorten a freezing period of a screen when viewed from a user to an extremely short period or to a period almost unrecognizable by restoring synchronization in a short time by a simple configuration even if AV synchronization comes out.
The audio video information decoding device comprises an audio information accumulating part in which audio information inputted from an audio information inputting part is stored, a video information accumulating part in which the video information inputted from a video information inputting part is stored, a synchronization control part which takes audio information stored in the audio information accumulating part and the video information stored in the video information accumulating part to control their synchronization, and a decoding part which decodes the audio information and video information controlled for synchronization by the synchronization control part. The synchronization control part erases a part of or all audio information or video information stored in the audio information accumulation part or video information accumulating part for synchronization control, in unit of frame, GOP, both of them, or others.
