To prevent causing damage to authentication history data or file systems which may occur at power supply cutoff when performing writing from SRAM as a temporary buffer of the authentication history data in a management section to a CF memory as a nonvolatile memory in an authentication device where an authentication section performing authentication processes and the management section storing authentication history are integrated.
The authentication section 220, which detects a power failure, transmits the low voltage to the management section 210 when power is supplied from a secondary battery and the supplied power is below a predetermined threshold. Then, the control section 210 instructs the authentication section 220 to stop transmission of the authentication history. Thereby, writing from the SRAM to the CF memory card is restrained since the authorization history data is not increased in the management section 210.
