Abstract:
To provide an authentication key preventing misinsertion of the authentication key and compacting an authentication unit.
The authentication key comprises a memory unit in which a nonvolatile storage medium storing specific information on a user is covered by a metal conductor to have a shape of a button battery having a pair of electrodes on upper and lower faces, and a main body provided with the memory unit in a state that the upper and lower faces are exposed. According to the authentication key, the memory unit having the shape of the button battery can prevent misinsertion into the authentication unit and can materialize compactization. Further, the authentication key can be used in a manner similar to a key chain.
