Abstract:
To provide an authentication server capable of safely performing a transaction using a portable terminal.SOLUTION: In an authentication system, an authentication server 12 verifies a signature and authenticates a user on the basis of a verification result and a biological collation result when receiving an authentication request of the user including the biological collation result, signature and registration code of the user by a portable terminal 11. When the authentication is successful, the authentication server generates an authentication code showing that the authentication is successful, and transmits the generated authentication code to the portable terminal. When the authentication server receives a verification request for the validity of each code including the registration code and the authentication code from an automatic teller machine (ATM) 10 which has read the registration code and the authentication code from the portable terminal, the authentication server determines whether each received code has been issued from the authentication server. If each code has been issued by the authentication server, a verification result showing that each code is valid is generated and the generated verification result is transmitted to the ATM.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
