To provide a user authentication which uses DNA for user authentication in electronic information exchange and electronic commercial transaction and highly safely and speedily performs authentication.
In a certifying system for judging whether a user is a regular user or not, an authentication slip in which a hybridization pattern is formed by reacting a DNA array and the DNA of the user and which has a DNA micro array, is used. A scanner 50 reads the pattern from the DNA micro array of the authentication slip and transmits information for authentication registration or authentication to the computer of an order accepting person-side. The computer of the order accepting person-side registers the user in accordance with the transmitted information and compares the registered hybridization pattern with a pattern which transmitted information shows so as to authenticate the user.
